Bid Opening: 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 20, 2005
OWNER: State of Wisconsin, Department of Administration, Division of State Facilities, hereinafter termed DSF.
Sealed bids will be received at State of Wisconsin Administration Building, 7th floor, 101 East Wilson Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53702, before the time indicated above. The bidder is responsible for the sealed bid being delivered to the 7th floor DSF reception desk for receipt stamping before the time specified for the bid opening. Third party delivery is entirely at the bidder's risk.
In general the work consists of interior remodeling of existing classrooms located in the Morris Hall, Wimberly Hall, and Cowley Hall classroom buildings. The work will include selective demolition, suspended acoustical tile ceiling systems, carpet, painting, visual display boards, chair rails, overhead projection screens, window treatment, and HVAC and electrical work associated with the vestibule construction. Demolition shall start no sooner than May 23, 2005 with work to be completed by August 12, 2005..
A pre-bid inspection tour will be conducted at the site at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 10, 2005. For details see Instructions to Bidders, page B-1.
Bidding documents may be obtained from the Division's Plan Distribution Unit at 1 West Wilson Street, Room B257, Madison, Wisconsin 53702, telephone 608/266-1436; or may be seen at various Builders' Exchanges; the F.W. Dodge Corporation Office in Milwaukee, Bid + Network, 4814 East Broadway, Madison, Wisconsin; Reed Construction Data in Brookfield; Milwaukee Urban League-MCIP; and Wisconsin Business Resource Center.
Base Bids will be received as follows: A single lump sum bid for all work or separate lump sum bids for: 1) General; 2) Mechanical and 2) Electrical .
The Lead Contractor on this project will be the General Contractor.Bidders shall identify themselves as Prime or Subcontractors and division of work being bid when requesting Bidding Documents.
Bidders can receive bidding documents for $75 per set and be payable to the Division of State Facilities by check or money order only, non-refundable.Construction phase records will be processed electronically on the WisBuild DSF(TM) Information System.
Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted unless otherwise noted.
Bidding Documents will be available on Thursday, December 23, 2004, and thereafter.
There is a less than 30 day bidding period for this project.
A pre-bid walk-thru tour of each of the classroom buildings has been scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on January 10, 2005, commencing at Morris Hall.
